Earthy hoops

Ran an experiment using MDF and pewter. Gravity cast back to back no cool down. Thinnest and lightest I have done so far for something this size (average cabochon size)

Some designs I am working on tonight

These are three earring designs I am working on tonight while I dream up some others. The turkey design is copyrighted to me, please do not reproduce it, as if I catch the copy a date in court is a lousy way to meet someone.

Unclogging Spray Can Nozzles

Here is a handy crafting tip I use to unclog spray can nozzles.

Almost all spray paints, lacquers, sealants will clog if the tip is not cleared properly. Lately I have been using cans that are capable of spraying even when upside down. This means I can not clear the nozzle by turning upside down and spraying out some propellant. Since I rarely use a can all at once it can be inconvenient.

A new toy

Most crafters would have no need for this toy, but many artists use them on big jobs. A cement mixer! I am toying with a few product lines but the main purpose was to create custom concrete work around my yard and home.

Concrete is turning into the new granite. There are so many techniques and styles that can be obtained through the use of concrete. Take a trip to a Disney theme park and you will see what I mean. Fake trees, statues, sidewalks, benches, trails, rides. Counter tops in homes and fancy pools in the yards.

While digging...

... through my inventory I unearthed two more rare out of production pieces from Alchemy Gothic!

Being an artist, and a touch on the theatric punk/goth/steam side, I have always been pulled to the darker side of art. I find that through the darkness is where we see light. That may explain why my personal designs are usually fairys, mermaids, lady bugs, and other sunshine filled creations.

PMC After Firing

Ok, the pieces are cooled down and I have put a quick polish on them to remove the white powdery coat they get during firing.

In the attached picture it can be easily seen that the Original PMC does shrink quite a bit. The pewter heart is the original size before the piece got fired, the little heart is the finished PMC product.

Today I am finally firing some of the pieces I have modeled in PMC.
